South Carolina Board of Nursing

New Grads waiting to take the NCLEX: Congratulations on graduating from your nursing program!

The Board processes, on average, over 4700 RN and 525 PN NCLEX applications annually. Historically, May and June are our busiest months. Applications are processed within 14 working days after all items are in the Board’s possession. Prior to making a new grad eligible for the NCLEX the following items are required:

  • Your completed SC Licensure application with payment
  • NCLEX registration thru Pearson VUE with payment
  • Certificate of Endorsement signed by your nursing program
  • Official Transcripts sent from your nursing program showing completion of degree (Out of state applicants only)

Once all these items are received, new grads will be declared eligible for the NCLEX. You will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) via email from the Pearson VUE Exam Center. The ATT is sent to the email address you provided when registering. You must have your ATT email to schedule an appointment to take the NCLEX. For more information click here: Pearson VUE online.
